$175 (60-minute session)
Our first session will be a time to review paperwork, get to know one another, and identify specific goals for therapy.

Anxiety and Stress
Frequent worry, nervousness and fear, difficulty sleeping, poor concentration, irritability, racing heart, and upset stomach... sound familiar? Excessive anxiety is the worst. It's overwhelming and exhausting, and our attempts to cope by either seeking control and/or avoiding, can frequently have the opposite effective of what we're after - a calm mind that allows us to respond versus react.
Therapy can help us understand the underlying causes of our worries and fears, and give us the tools to overcome anxiety – freeing up space in the body and mind to experience the joys of life.
Self-love and compassion
We tend to be pretty hard on ourselves, and most of us have the belief that this will somehow make us better. But has hating yourself ever actually helped more than it has harmed? Or has it only lead to a lack of fulfillment and feelings of shame? Instead, how might life be different if you knew you could always meet yourself with kindness and compassion? What would happen if you could find comfort within yourself?
In my work as a therapist, I have found that self-love and compassion can be the cornerstone of healing. When we learn to observe ourselves from a place of curiosity versus judgement, and when we meet those parts of ourselves with kindness, we begin to see how truly deserving we are of health and happiness.
We are hard-wired to connect with others because we are not meant to deal with the hugeness of life alone. But even still, relationships are hard and can be tricky to navigate. In therapy, there is space to explore our connections with others, and the role we play within these dynamics. Some common areas of focus for my clients when exploring their relationships include; developing the skills to have difficult conversations and resolve conflict, learning how to build trust, increasing self-awareness, shifting co-dependent behaviors, identifying relationship patterns, and developing a greater understanding of what healthy relationships look like.
Please note: I do not work with couples, but I can help people with relationship concerns in individual therapy.
Trauma can occur after any significant life event in which we experience a loss of control and resulting threat to our safety. Sometimes, the aftermath of these events cause our brains to become overwhelmed and disorganized, and our bodies get stuck on high alert - looking for and perceiving threat everywhere (real or not).
With therapy, we can learn to rewrite the narratives we create around our traumas to make sense of our experiences, and connect with our bodies to regain a sense of safety. In doing so, we can begin to view the trauma as something outside of ourselves instead the circumstance that defines who we are.
Depression can lead us to feel like we're all alone; overwhelmed with a sense of emptiness and hopelessness, robbed of the desire to connect with others, and lacking interest in activities we once enjoyed. Contrary to what some may think, depression isn't something you can just "snap out of" - otherwise we probably wouldn't experience it in the first place. Fortunately, therapy can help. Together we can explore and uncover what's behind your depression, challenge distorted thoughts and behaviors that contribute to hopelessness, develop new skills to cope with and manager your symptoms, and collaborated on realistic goal-setting to help you move forward in life.
We transition in life all the time. Nevertheless, we shouldn't underestimate how challenging it can be to adjust to change, whether we view it as good or bad. When things are new, they are also unknown, and this can lead to feelings of stress and overwhelm. Therapy can offer the support and tools we need to navigate the uncertainty of change.
Common life transitions may include moving homes and relocating, loss of a loved one, breakups or divorce, changes in health, various stages of life (young adult, middle age, retirement, etc.), job loss or new employment, starting a family, etc.
